How to get from Valencia Airport to the beachfront apartment in Gandia – a complete step-by-step guide.For many tourists arriving in Spain, Gandia is a dream holiday destination – beautiful beach, sunshine, and relaxation. If you are planning to stay in an apartment right by the sea and are flying into Valencia Airport, this guide will take you step by step through the entire route – comfortably, cheaply, and safely.

 

Step 1: From the airport to Valencia city center (Estació del Nord)

Mode of transport: Metro (Line 3 or 5)Travel time: about 20 minutesTicket price: about 4.80 EUR (one-way ticket for 4 zones)Where to buy the ticket: ticket machines at the metro station, card terminals, the "Metrovalencia" app (see the tabMETRO)

 

 

Direction and stops:

  • Upon arrival, go to level -1 in the airport terminal, where the metro station "Aeroport" is located.

  • Board the trainline 3 (red) direction: Rafelbunyolor line 5 (green) direction: Marítim-Serrería.

  • Get off at the stationXàtiva, which is right next to Valencia's main train station –Estació del Nord.

Tip: Xàtiva is not just a metro station – right outside, you will also find the famous bullring and a promenade leading to the old town.

 

 

Step 2: Regional train from Valencia to Gandia

Mode of transport: Cercanías train (line C-1)Travel time: about 1 hourTicket price: 4.25 EUR (one way)Where to buy the ticket: RENFE ticket office at Estació del Nord, ticket machines, RENFE app (see the tabTRAIN)

Direction and stops:

  • At Estació del Nord, look for the signsCercanías / Rodalies.

  • The train stops at: Alfafar – Benetússer, Cullera, Tavernes de la Valldigna, Xeraco – butyou do not need to transfer.

  • Get off at thelast station – Gandia.

Fun fact: Line C-1 travels through the beautiful landscapes of the Huerta Valenciana region and the Costa del Azahar coastline – it's worth sitting by the window on the left side to enjoy the views.

 

 

WARNING!

In Gandia, there are two terminal stations for the C-1 train. Step 3: From the train station in Gandia to the beach (Platja de Gandia)

Mode of transport: City bus L2 or taxi.Bus travel time: about 15–20 minutes.Ticket price: 1.60 EUR.Where to buy the ticket: from the driver (cash) or the Mobilis app.

 

Route of bus L2:

 

Alternative: A taxi from the station to the beach costs about 8–12 EUR and takes about 10 minutes.

Interesting facts along the route:

  • Cullera: one of the stops on the C-1 train – known for its castle on the hill and the view of the Júcar River delta.

  • Xàtiva station: shares its name with the historic city of Xàtiva – the birthplace of Pope Alexander VI of the Borgia family.

  • All means of transport are equipped for people with limited mobility – elevators, ramps, low-floor buses.
